This article provides information about the updates that Microsoft is releasing to enable TLS 1.2 support for SQL Server 2017 on Windows, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, and SQL Server 2014. This article also lists supported client providers. SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2017, and SQL Server 2019 support TLS 1.2 without the need for an update.
Use the following table to determine whether your current version of SQL Server already has support for TLS 1.2 or whether you have to download an update to enable TLS 1.2 support. Use the download links in the table to obtain the server updates that are applicable to your environment.
Note: KB3123299 will now install the last CU released for 2012 SP3 (CU10 - KB4025925, which includes TLS 1.2 support as well as all hotfixes released to date). If needed, CU1 is available in Windows Update Catalog.
Note: KB3120313 will now install the last CU released for 2012 SP2 (CU16 - KB3205054, which includes TLS 1.2 support as well as all hotfixes released to date). If needed, CU1 is available in Windows Update Catalog.
These settings are required for both server and client computers. The DisabledByDefault and Enabled settings are required to be created on Windows 7 clients and Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. On Windows 8 and later versions of the client operating systems or Windows Server 2012 server and later versions of the server operating systems, TLS 1.2 should already be enabled. If you are implementing a deployment policy for Windows Registry which needs to be independent of the OS release, then we recommend adding the mentioned registry keys to the policy.
ISQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Report Server, and Report Manager don't connect to the database engine after you apply the fix for SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, or 2014. Report Server and Report Manager fail and return the following error message:
This issue may occur when SCCM uses a SQL Server Native Client driver that does not have a fix. To resolve this issue, download and install the Native client fix that's listed in the Client Components downloads section of this article. For example: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client - QFE.
You cannot download files or view files from a website when you connect to the site over HTTPS (secure sites) by using Internet Explorer 9 or a later version. For example, you visit a secure website such as a bank or other financial institution and try to download or view a PDF file. The file does not appear in Internet Explorer and you may see an error message similar to the following:
To download files, Internet Explorer must create a cache or temporary file. In Internet Explorer 9 or a later version, if the file is delivered over HTTPS, and any response headers are set to prevent caching, and if the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option is set, a cache file is not created. Therefore, the download fails.
Turning off this automatic download breaks the out-of-date ActiveX control blocking feature by not letting the version list update with newly outdated controls, potentially compromising the security of your computer. Use this configuration option at your own risk.
on managed devicesOut-of-date ActiveX control blocking includes four new Group Policy settings that you can use to manage your web browser configuration, based on your domain controller. You can download the administrative templates, including the new settings, from the Administrative templates (.admx) for Windows 10 page or the Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 page, depending on your operating system.
The inventory info appears in the WMI class, IEAXControlBlockingAuditInfo, located in the WMI namespace, root\cimv2\IETelemetry. To collect the inventory info from your client computers, we recommend using System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager or any agent that can access the WMI data. For more info, see Collect data using Enterprise Site Discovery.

This was the most frightening and terrible experience of my entire career in home renovation. I cannot list all the details it would take too long. Contract started in sept 2012 and was never completed, electrician failed to notify power co that they were disconnecting the meter and power company removed pole and all power. after several electricians i was told by contractor that he could not find an electrician. This was rubbish, i ended up sending in someone i had hired in order to complete, get it up to code and get the inspection passed. (essentially i paid twice) My electrician found still existing knob and tube that had never been replaced. only interior of HVAC unit had been installed, Essentially i had to perform same function on the HVAC and pay someone to come in and finish the job. Turns out the original HVAC guy had not been paid properly and was preparing to lien the property. I took care of the bill and had him finish the job. (i paid twice again). brand new tiles in both bathrooms, laundry and kitchen poorly installed so that they cracked and were loose. none were level. In the kitchen the tiles had been installed over the top of the floor HVAC grate and also over rotted floorboards which collapsed under the weight of the granite breaking my new granite into two halves. I had to pay a second time for the counter to be repaired and granite removed and re-installed. found out that the cabinets had been attached to drywall only using only finish nails less than 18 gauge!! Had to jackhammer all the brand new floor tiles out and re level floor and re-tile. and then re-install all the cabinets myself.. fortunately my family helped because i have run out of money. he removed windows (planned ones and also some unauthorized and unplanned ones) and patched siding with a siding that did not match the same as on the house so it is full of holes at the edges. Repainting job was done without any surface prep whatsoever... NO PREP ON THE EXTERIOR PAINT BEFORE PAINTING.... new bathtub is 1.5 inches lower on one side than the other... bathtub drain not hooked up water just pours into the basement.!!! beautiful original floors scarred by lousy sanding, sanding had to be re-done. stain and poly was never completed I had to do do that. this litany represents just a few of the work issues found. the house is beautiful now.... but only because we have personally had to go there and take care of it.
In 1994, Acorn established a new division, Online Media, focusing on interactive multimedia client hardware.[103] Online Media aimed to exploit the projected video-on-demand (VOD) boom, an interactive television system which would allow users to select and watch video content over a network.[104] In September 1994 the Cambridge Digital Interactive Television Trial of video-on-demand services was set up by Online Media, Anglia Television, Cambridge Cable (now part of Virgin Media) and Advanced Telecommunication Modules Ltd (ATML). The trial involved creating a wide area ATM network linking TV-company to subscribers' homes and delivering services such as home shopping, online education, software downloaded on-demand and the World Wide Web. The wide area network used a combination of fibre and coaxial cable, and the switches were housed in the roadside cabinets of Cambridge Cable's existing network.[105]Olivetti Research Laboratory developed the technology used by the trial. An ICL video server provided the service via ATM switches manufactured by ATML, another company set up by Hauser and Hopper. The trial commenced at a speed of 2 Mbit/s to the home, subsequently increased to 25 Mbit/s.[106]
